State police in Kidder Township were dispatched to the Plateau Motel on State Route 940 just after 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, where they say  Jonathan Sacerdote stabbed his mom, Michelle Sacerdote, multiple times and fled the scene.

The woman was treated for injuries at Geisingher Wyoming Valley hospital, though her present condition was unclear.

Township police tracked down Sacerdote, who they said admitted to "stabbing his mother multiple times in the head and every single part of her body," state troopers wrote.

He was charged with attempted murder, assault, harassment and terroristic threats, police said. State court records show Sacerdote is being held in Carbon County Prison after bail was denied at his arraignment hearing on Sunday, Nov. 6.
